The "Innovations-Zentrum Berlin Management GmbH", IZBM (managing company of innovation and business incubation centres in Berlin) was founded in 1986 as a subsidiary company of the Berlin Business Development Corporation. Since 2006 the IZBM is a 100 per cent subsidiary company of the state-owned WISTA-Management GmbH. The primary goal of the IZBM is to develop and manage technology-, innovation- and business incubation centres.

The IZBM operates the first German Incubation Centre: the "Berliner Innovations- und Gründerzentrum", BIG (Berlin innovation and business incubation centre) as well as the "Technologie- und Innovationspark Berlin", TIB (Berlin technology and innovation park), both located in Berlin-Wedding (in the district of Mitte) in cooperation with the "Gewerbesiedlungsgesellschaft mbH", GSG (managing company for business locations).
The IZBM developed concepts for the "Innovations- und GründerZentrum", IGZ (innovation and business incubation centre) as well as for the International Business Incubator, OWZ . It has managed the IGZ since 1991 and the OWZ since 1997, on behalf of the "WISTA Management GmbH", WISTA (managing company of the Technology park in Berlin-Adlershof). Both centres are a part of Berlin-Adlershof, the City of Science, Technology and Media.
The IZBM is a founding member of the "Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Technologie- und Gründerzentren e.V.", ADT (Association of German Technology and Business Incubation Centres) and the Innokolleg (Berlin-Brandenburg Network of Business Incubation Centres).
